On January 7th, 13 Mercy & McQuaid Sophomores along, with 7 moms, brought donations of binders, hats, gloves, foot and hand warmers to the House of Mercy team caring for the community’s homeless.
A previously homeless, House of Mercy volunteer worker and Kelly Finnigan, Social Worker and McQuaid Alum, shared much of their knowledge of the homeless situation in Rochester. Then the M&M Service volunteers managed the House of Mercy’s letter/envelope mailing of their Thank You letters from the numerous donors over the Christmas season, sorted and organized dozens of bags of donated winter clothes, shoes and boots.
A special thank you to Connie Defelice for facilitating; Mrs. Therese Randazzese, Mercy Service Coordinator, and House of Mercy’s, Sr. Grace, Sr. Rita and Kelly Finnigan for supporting the most vulnerable in our community! Students and parents are encouraged to come back and offer their help for the homeless. Thank you to all who participated!
