Middle School Ministry Days

In 1990, Sue Clifford, the first Principal of Mercy’s Middle School, designed the middle school program to include a service component. Twenty eight years later, Ministry Days are still about treating those we serve as equals, for we are all equally loved by God. As our students help those in need, whether it is with children, the elderly or behind the scenes work, they learn to accept others and increase their awareness about community issues.
Before our young ladies are of service in our Rochester community, the students are given the opportunity to understand the purpose, the learning objectives and desired outcome of Ministry Days. Then after returning each time, students are put into small groups with a teacher who facilitates a follow-up discussion about their experiences and concludes with a prayer for those whom were served that day.
